Do you know how to find the best natural hair salon? Atlanta, Georgia has been nicknamed the black Mecca. It is a city rich in style, tradition, and culture. Abound with places to live, shop, and play; the city is continuously growing.

Atlanta is home to roughly 243,285 black residents with most of those individuals being women. With such a vast population of women (many of whom have embraced their natural hair), not only are residents looking for Atlanta homes for sale, but also great salons to take care of their natural tresses.

When it comes to your hair; you want it to make a statement that announces who you are and what you represent. However, if you are struggling with your natural hair, have read all the blog posts, watched hundreds of YouTube videos and still cannot figure it out; then a natural hair salon may be just what you need to learn How to Get Your Curls in Formation.

Do Your Research on Natural Hair Salons

Firstly, don’t just go to google and pick a random natural hair salon. Make sure you do a little research. Look for reviews, checkout photos of their work on websites and social media post. In addition, see what “the streets are saying.” And, if you’re anything like me, you’re going to go into the salon a couple of times to checkout some of their work first hand. As a result, you will be able to get a good feel for how the stylists in the salon treat customers and how well they style natural hair.

Ask for Referrals to Natural Hair Salons

Secondly, if you see a sister with gorgeous natural hair, don’t be afraid to ask her where she got it done. Of course, be sure to ask this question after you give her a compliment. If she goes to a great natural hair salon with an awesome stylist, she’ll be more than willing to provide you with the contact information to get in touch with the stylist and salon. Some natural hair salons offer special discounts for their valued and loyal customers; especially those that often send new clients their way.

Word of Mouth to find a Natural Hair Salon

Thirdly, and without fail, word of mouth is a natural hair salon’s best way to get new customers. If a stylist consistently does a good job; their clients will be singing their praises. You will keep hearing these natural hair salons mentioned over-and-over again. A great natural hair salon and stylist is freely recommended because a well satisfied customer sees great value in their work.

Asking Questions will help you find the Best Natural Hair Salon

Fourth, always ask questions, and not just any old questions, but ones that pertain specifically to your hair:

  1. Primarily, does the natural hair stylist know how to do a variety of natural hairstyles well or do they cater to a specific style (mostly wash and go, for example)?
  2. In addition, how well does the natural hair stylist work with different hair types (type 2, 3, 4 /A, B, and C hair)?
  3. Also, does the natural hair stylist overly use heat or chemicals?
  4. And more specifically, how knowledgeable is the natural hair stylist about hair health and quality products that work in all different hair types? You would be surprised by the number of licensed cosmetologists that give out bad natural hair care advice.

Once you’ve done your research, asked for referrals, listened to “the streets,” and asked your questions, finally, you’re ready to choose a natural hair salon.
